During a session of the Jogorku Kenesh, Deputy Dastan Bekeshev emphasized the importance of addressing the recent incident involving the search of a Kyrgyz diplomat's residence and the physical assault of his wife by Russian police officers. Bekeshev stressed the need to send a letter to the Russian State Duma to request an investigation into the matter.
"We must also react to this incident. We have good relations with Duma deputies, they are our strategic partners, but they also need to consider this case. In fact, the police are committing unlawful actions not only against this family but also against other citizens. If we cannot protect them, what will happen to ordinary citizens?" the deputy stated.
Bekeshev highlighted that Russian parliamentarians should oversee the enforcement of the country's laws, while the Jogorku Kenesh should collaborate with them to protect Kyrgyz citizens. The incident in question occurred on April 8th when two Russian Interior Ministry officers arrived at the residence of Kyrgyz Ambassador's advisor Manas Zholdoshbekov in Moscow to verify the legal grounds for the presence of a foreign national in Russia. The officers broke the door and demanded to see a detachable part of the migration registration form.
