Imamidin Tashov, wanted for attempted coup, was detained in Kaindy village in the Chui region, according to the GKNB press center. Tashov allegedly crossed the Kyrgyz-Kazakh border illegally and was apprehended en route from Almaty to Kara-Balta.
In Kara-Balta, he reportedly planned to set up a temporary headquarters to consolidate forces for a protest action leading to a seizure of power. While on the run, Tashov actively recruited through social media. Investigations are ongoing.
Criminal proceedings have been initiated against KG Group construction company head, Imamidin Tashov, for his involvement in the attempted coup. He was previously declared wanted. The case also involves activist Tilekmat Kurenov.
Earlier, GKNB reported that KG Group had built six residential buildings in Bishkek without proper permits, which were not put into operation due to unauthorized construction.
Previously, a video appeal by Imamidin Tashov circulated on social media, claiming he was "abducted like a bandit," held captive, and demanded 52 million soms for the state and an additional 100 million "in the left pocket."
