Defense Ministers of Kyrgyzstan and Russia, Baktybek Bekbolotov and Sergei Shoigu, have signed two agreements during their meeting in Astana. This was reported by Russian media.
The message states that "two interdepartmental agreements have been signed following the meeting: 'On Information Exchange' and 'On Cooperation in the Detection and Assessment of the Radiological, Chemical, and Biological Situation'."
During the negotiations, the heads of the defense ministries discussed current issues of cooperation in the military sphere and outlined prospects for further collaboration.
In Astana, a meeting of defense ministers of the member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization is taking place. The meeting is attended by the leaders of the defense ministries of India, Iran, China, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Russia, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan.
