Heads of Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan meet to discuss regional security

Heads of the special services of Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan held a meeting in the city of Fergana to discuss a range of issues related to regional security. The meeting took place on the eve of May 6th, as reported by the press center of the State Committee for National Security of the Kyrgyz Republic.

During the meeting, Kamchybek Tashiev, Saimumin Yatimov, and Abdusalom Azizov engaged in an open and trustful discussion on various aspects of ensuring regional security. They exchanged views on the current state and prospects of cooperation in combating terrorism, extremism, drug trafficking, illegal migration, smuggling, and other transboundary threats and challenges. The officials also addressed issues of cross-border cooperation and the overall creation of favorable conditions for fostering good neighborly relations between the countries.

Agreements were reached to expedite the processes of delimitation of the Kyrgyz-Tajik state border and demarcation of the Kyrgyz-Uzbek state border. Practical measures were defined to address these issues based on the consideration of mutual interests of the parties.
