Specialists from Russia have arrived in Kyrgyzstan to help establish a repair base for the Ministry of Defense. The Minister of Defense, Bakytbek Bekbolotov, informed the parliament members about this development. The repair base is planned to be set up in the southern regional center of Osh.
Bekbolotov mentioned that nearly 15 officers from the Russian Ministry of Defense have arrived in Kyrgyzstan to carry out the planned work. This collaboration follows a similar project in 2023 when, with the assistance of the Russian side, a repair base was opened in the city of Balykchy in the Issyk-Kul region.
At the central repair base for weapons and military equipment of the Kyrgyz Ministry of Defense, the assembly of the armored vehicle "GAZ-66M" is also taking place. Some components for this assembly are being supplied from the Russian Federation.
