in National Security / Kyrgyzstan - by

The Border Service of the State Committee for National Security reported that checkpoints along the Kyrgyz-Kazakh border are functioning normally. However, due to a seasonal increase in freight traffic, there is a buildup of trucks at the Ak-Tilek - highway and Chaldybar-highway checkpoints.

As of 12:30 on March 14, 430 freight vehicles are waiting to pass through the Ak-Tilek - highway checkpoint from Kyrgyzstan to Kazakhstan, with 342 vehicles having crossed into Kazakhstan in the past day. At the Chaldybar-highway checkpoint, 90 trucks heading from Kyrgyz Republic to Republic of Kazakhstan have been recorded.

The Border Service emphasized that vehicles transporting perishable goods and animals are allowed to cross the border without waiting in line. Both the Kyrgyz Border Service and the Kazakh Border Service confirmed that there are no restrictions on the passage of freight vehicles.
