Militia in Tajikistan detains five charlatans for fraud

The law enforcement in the Hatlon region of Tajikistan has detained five sorcerers and healers for fraudulent activities, as reported by the local police department. Among those apprehended are individuals such as Rahim Ibragimov, also known as Domullo Abdurakhim, aged 66, residing in the village of Gulzor in the Kushan district. Nargis Gurbanova, a 50-year-old resident of Levakant, and Idimokh Nazarova, aged 59, also living in Levakant, were also taken into custody.

Furthermore, Kholdan Kulchakova, a 66-year-old resident of the Jaloliddini Balhi district in the village of Navobad, and Nargis Goibnazarova, aged 50, residing in the settlement of Farkhor in the Farkhor district, were arrested. The individuals have been charged with engaging in sorcery and fortune-telling, according to Article 482 of the Tajikistan Code of Administrative Offenses. They have been warned about the illegality of their actions.

According to the mentioned article, these individuals could face fines ranging from 40 to 50 indicators for calculations (1 indicator equals 72 somoni). In the event of repeated offenses within one year after the application of administrative penalties, fines could amount to 60 to 100 indicators for calculations. It is evident that the authorities are taking a firm stance against fraudulent practices in the region, aiming to maintain law and order.
