Tajik media companies and radio stations no longer need to constantly renew their broadcasting licenses and other permits as required by previous legislation. Last year, two laws - "On Licensing Certain Types of Activities" and "On the Permitting System" - were merged, making all media permits indefinite.
Details of Tajikistan's new law "On the Permitting System," which introduces these important changes, were shared with "Novomu Reporter" by media lawyer Ranjet Yatimov from the public organization "Khoma." Once the validity period of existing permits required for Tajik media operations expires, they will be able to obtain new, permanent licenses and permissions.
