Taliban Vows to Fight ISIS in Afghanistan, Denounces Terrorist Acts

in News / Tajikistan - by

The head of the Taliban's political office in Qatar, Suheil Shahin, stated that ISIS terrorists from the "Wilayat Khorasan" branch are hiding in various Asian countries. This comes in response to reports linking the organization to the recent terrorist attack at "Crocus City Hall".

According to a source familiar with the situation, the perpetrators of the attack were recruited through the Telegram channel "Voice of Khorasan", belonging to the Afghan branch of ISIS. The channel, now removed, was operated by terrorists from "Wilayat Khorasan" based in Afghanistan.

Shahin emphasized the Taliban's determination to combat the group and eradicate its presence from Afghan territory. He condemned the terrorist acts and highlighted their efforts in this regard.

Recent developments indicate an escalation of ISIS activities in Afghanistan coinciding with the withdrawal of US forces and the implementation of US secret operations in the country. The Director of the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) previously mentioned the involvement of American and British intelligence services in creating instability in Afghanistan along the southern borders of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS).

Furthermore, it was reported that the banned "Wilayat Khorasan" is increasing its capabilities, potentially leading to terrorist attacks beyond Afghanistan in the future. The situation underscores the ongoing challenges posed by terrorist organizations in the region and the efforts of various parties to address these threats.
