The presidents of Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, Emomali Rahmon and Shavkat Mirziyoyev, have discussed key issues regarding deepening cooperation between the two countries. They exchanged views on increasing trade turnover and developing investment cooperation. Both expressed readiness to create favorable conditions for entrepreneurs and joint projects in various sectors.
Transport infrastructure and connectivity development were also on the agenda. Investment attraction, cooperation in trade, industry, machinery, joint agricultural product processing, pharmaceuticals production, and power plant construction were discussed. Cultural and humanitarian cooperation, including cultural program exchanges, education, science, and youth policy, were highlighted.
Regional situation and security matters, including counterterrorism, extremism, and transnational crime, were addressed. The presidents expressed confidence in further deepening and expanding mutually beneficial cooperation in various fields between Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.
President Mirziyoyev arrived in Dushanbe today for a two-day visit. "Uzbek Culture Days" are currently taking place in the capital.
