Earlier today, the Basmanny District Court of Moscow ordered the pre-trial detention of Alisher Kasimov, the eighth suspect in the "Crocus City Hall" terror attack case, until May 22. This information was reported by Mediazona.

According to Kasimov's mother, he was arrested on Saturday while he was at home with his children. Reports suggest that Kasimov had rented an apartment to Shamsidin Fariduni, who is considered by the investigation to be one of the attackers at "Crocus."

Kasimov, a 32-year-old native of Kyrgyzstan, married with three children and no prior criminal record, claimed in court that he was unaware of his tenants' terrorist connections and had simply advertised the apartment on Avito.

The court, however, interrupted Kasimov, stating that it was not interested in hearing his testimony at that moment and immediately closed the session to the press at the investigator's request.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan revealed that Kasimov is not a citizen of Kyrgyzstan, having renounced his citizenship in 2014. Therefore, diplomatic and consular institutions of Kyrgyzstan in Russia are not responsible for protecting his rights and interests.

In recent days, several individuals linked to the "Crocus" attack have been arrested and brought to court, some showing signs of torture. The investigation continues to unfold, shedding light on the tragic events that took place at "Crocus City Hall" in Krasnogorsk.

The swift actions of law enforcement in apprehending suspects and bringing them to justice demonstrate the commitment to combating terrorism and ensuring the safety of citizens. The case serves as a reminder of the ongoing threats posed by extremism and the importance of international cooperation in addressing such challenges.
