Presidents of Tajikistan and Russia Discuss Bilateral Cooperation and Migrant Issues

Today, on May 3, the Presidents of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon, and Russia, Vladimir Putin, had a phone conversation. According to the press service of the head of state, they discussed current issues of Tajik-Russian bilateral cooperation.

The heads of state highlighted the close coordination of law enforcement agencies and special services in combating terrorism, extremism, and manifestations of transnational organized crime. They emphasized the importance of further strengthening their interaction, as stated in the information provided.

The press service noted that the parties also agreed on the schedule of upcoming meetings.

The Kremlin's website highlights that during the phone call, there was "confidence expressed that the recently intensified attempts by certain forces to artificially escalate the situation around labor migrants coming to Russia, including from Tajikistan, will be jointly suppressed and will not be able to harm the time-tested fraternal relations between the peoples of the two countries."
