The Tajik Embassy Council in the Russian Federation issued a safety warning for Tajik citizens residing in Russia, stating that the security situation in the country remains unchanged. Following recent terrorist attacks, increased security measures have been implemented in various public places to ensure the safety of residents.
The Council also highlighted the recruitment of individuals by radical and extremist groups through social media platforms for terrorist activities. Tajik citizens were strongly advised to exercise caution and avoid large gatherings due to potential conflicts of a national nature.
Meanwhile, reports from Tajik migrants indicated deteriorating attitudes towards them by Russian authorities and local populations post-terror attacks. Some migrants reported dismissals, possibly on national grounds. Migration services and law enforcement conducted document checks at a marketplace warehouse in Elektrostal, with 21 individuals detained.
Authorities in Tajikistan refrained from commenting on the situation. Unfortunately, one critically injured victim of the "Crocus City Hall" attack succumbed to injuries, raising the death toll to 140 individuals. Health Minister Mikhail Murashko confirmed the update, noting four victims in critical condition and 19 in serious condition.
Emergency services completed debris clearance at the attack site, with a preliminary list of 143 deceased individuals released. The total number of attack victims stood at 360. The "Crocus City Hall" attack on March 22 was claimed by ISIS, leading to the arrest of 11 suspects, eight of whom were remanded in custody until May 22. Five suspects were Tajik citizens, two were Tajik-born individuals with Russian citizenship, and one was a Kyrgyz-born individual with Russian citizenship.
