Relatives of Dalerjon Mirzoev, one of the suspects in the "Crocus" attack in Moscow, say that two days before the incident, he promised to return home soon. Mirzoev, a 32-year-old resident of the Rudaki district, became one of the four suspects in the terrorist attack in Krasnogorsk, where 143 people were killed and 180 injured.
Russian law enforcement authorities claim that Mirzoev was detained in the Bryansk region while allegedly trying to flee Russia. In a video circulating online, Mirzoev is seen being arrested in a forest. His family revealed that he had gone to Russia in October 2023 and worked as a taxi driver.
Mirzoev's father, Barotali, mentioned that his son last spoke to his mother on March 20. Mirzoev, a father of four, had two twin children, and his family lives near his father's house. Five family members were interrogated by authorities, but only his parents were released due to health reasons on March 27.
Mirzoev's father also shared that another son, Ravshandjon, had been missing since 2016 after joining the fighting in Syria. Reports suggest that he may have died in Syria or Iraq while being affiliated with ISIS. Neighbors described Dalerjon as a regular person not following religious traditions.
On March 24, Mirzoev and three other suspects were placed in pre-trial detention until mid-May. Margarita Simonyan, the editor-in-chief of the state-owned RT channel, labeled Mirzoev as the "leader of a terrorist group." However, his exact role in the March 22 attack remains unknown.
Mirzoev and the other suspects were brought to court in a tortured state, raising concerns about the validity of their confessions. The Basmanny Court in Moscow stated that Mirzoev confessed, but human rights advocates believe that the confessions were obtained under duress.
