Kamchybek Tashiev, the chairman of Kyrgyzstan's National Security Committee (GKNB), expressed support for Tajik citizens following the recent terrorist attack at the "Crocus City Hall" in Moscow. In a Facebook post, he emphasized that Kyrgyzstan mourns the victims of this tragedy and highlighted that blaming an entire nation for the incident is inappropriate.
Tashiev stated that terrorists have no nationality and accusing a whole nation plays into the hands of terrorist organizations seeking to fuel interethnic tensions and anti-migrant sentiments in Russia. He emphasized that individuals from any country could fall under the influence of recruiters.
He expressed hope that the joint efforts of security services would prevent the criminal goals of the so-called pseudo-Islamists. The attack took place on the evening of March 22 when several individuals armed with automatic weapons stormed the concert hall just minutes before the start of a performance by the band "Picnic." They opened fire on attendees and set the building on fire.
The Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) announced the arrest of 11 suspects, including four direct participants, prior to May 22. Following the attack, incidents were reported in various Russian cities where locals targeted Tajik citizens and refused to use services provided by members of this community.
Russian authorities have also intensified control over migrant workers, prompting a proposal by State Duma Deputy Sergei Mironov to cancel visa-free travel agreements with Central Asian countries whose nationals work in Russia.
