Today marks the beginning of the spring conscription into the Tajik army, lasting until May 31, 2024. All cities and districts of the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region (GBAO) of Tajikistan have met their recruitment targets on the first day of the spring campaign. According to Kishvar Amirsho, the press secretary of the head of GBAO, the recruitment plan in the region has been fulfilled 100%.

In the administrative center of the region, the city of Khorog, a ceremony was held to send off the new recruits to the army. Additionally, four districts of the Khatlon Region - Vakhsh, Farkhor, Muminobod, and Khovaling - have also met their recruitment targets on the first day, as reported by NIAT "Khovar". Festive events took place in all four districts, where new recruits who completed driving courses were awarded their driver's licenses.

Moreover, the districts of the Rasht zone have successfully completed their recruitment targets: Sangvor - 100%, Lakhsh - 100%, Tajikabad - 100%, Nurobod - 100%, and Rasht - 100%. In the northern part of the country, the rural jamoats of Vorukh, Chorkuh, Chilgazi, and Lakkon in the city of Isfara have reported a 100% completion rate, according to the press service of the executive body of the Sughd Region.

The authorities noted that the full completion of the recruitment plan in rural jamoats on the first day is a sign of society's commitment to defending the Motherland and safeguarding the state borders, attributed to the educational and propaganda work among the youth. The ceremonial send-off of the recruits in the capital, where the Conscript Day was observed, was attended by leaders of law enforcement agencies, organizations, enterprises, and labor veterans who emphasized the National Army of the Republic of Tajikistan as a reliable support of the state and a powerful stronghold of the nation, as reported by the state news agency.

As per the presidential decree, the current draft campaign will call upon young citizens born between 1997 and 2006 to serve.
