President of Tajikistan Signs Decree on Dismissal of Military Personnel and New Military Conscription

On March 5th, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon signed a decree on the dismissal of military personnel who have completed their designated service terms and on the new conscription of citizens for military service.

According to the press service of the head of state, in April-May 2024, servicemen who have completed their service terms in the Armed Forces of the country, Border Troops of the State Committee for National Security, National Guard, Interior Ministry troops, Civil Defense Forces of the Committee of Emergency Situations, Convoy Brigade of the Main Directorate for the Implementation of Court Decisions under the Ministry of Justice, and the Agrarian Battalion of the Property Management Agency will be dismissed.

Simultaneously, from April 1st to May 31st, 2024, male citizens who have reached the age of 18 by the day of conscription, as well as older citizens who do not have the right to deferment or exemption from conscription (born between 1997-2006), will be called up to serve in the aforementioned structures and agencies.
