The national news agency "Khovar" reported that some so-called independent media outlets are distorting the situation and spreading various unverified and provocative information about the arrest of citizens in connection with an attempt to commit terrorist acts ahead of the Navruz holiday. The statement emphasized that these reports have no real basis.
Last week, several local and foreign media outlets, including a news source, cited their own sources in the security forces and law enforcement agencies of the republic, reporting that the State Committee for National Security of Tajikistan detained 15 citizens who allegedly planned to commit terrorist acts in Dushanbe and Vahdat on the eve of the Navruz holiday.
At that time, the media stated that they were unable to officially confirm or refute the information with the security agencies. As of today, official authorities and law enforcement agencies have not made any official statements on the matter or refuted the media reports.
