in National Security / Tajikistan - by

The Moscow City Court has dismissed the appeal against the decision of the Basmanny Court to arrest the suspect in the terrorist attack, Isroil Islomov, on April 3. Isroil was the first of the detained individuals to challenge his sentence. His father and brothers, Aminjon and Dilovar Islomov, as well as Alisher Kasimov from Kyrgyzstan, who were also arrested in connection with the "Crocus City Hall" terror case, had previously filed appeals against their arrest orders.

During the closed-door session, Isroil Sr. participated via video link, with journalists only allowed in for the announcement of the decision. The appeals of the other defendants will be reviewed later.

The Basmanny Court of Moscow had ordered the arrest of Isroil, Dilovar, and Aminjon Islomov (father and two sons) on March 25. According to the investigation, the Islomovs were aware of the terrorists' plans but deny any involvement. Dilovar owned a Renault Symbol car, which the terrorists used to flee the crime scene and were later apprehended in the Bryansk region. Reports suggest that he voluntarily went to the police upon learning that the car, registered in his name, was wanted in connection with the attack.

Dilovar had sold the vehicle in February, but the insurance policy had not been transferred. Both Islomov brothers are Russian citizens residing and working in the taxi industry in Tver. Isroil Islomov, a Tajikistan national, held a residence permit in Russia.

In a shooting incident at "Crocus City Hall" near Moscow on March 22, several individuals in military attire stormed the center, shooting people at close range, setting fire to seats in the auditorium, and throwing incendiary devices, causing a significant blaze. Four perpetrators were arrested in the early hours of March 23 in the Bryansk region, all Tajik nationals en route to the border. The Basmanny Court remanded them in custody until May 22, and later detained six more accomplices in the case.
