Turkey has announced the cancellation of the visa-free regime for citizens of Tajikistan, as stated in a decree by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. The document, published in the official government gazette Resmi Gazete, takes effect immediately upon publication, as reported by TASS.
The decision is said to be based on the law on foreigners and international protection. Earlier, Turkish media reported that two suspects from Tajikistan, Faridun Shamsidin and Saidakram Rachabalizoda, had visited Turkey shortly before the terrorist attack at "Krokus." Rachabalizoda arrived in Istanbul on January 5, 2024, and according to media reports, they both flew back to Moscow together on March 2.
