Italian police in Rome arrested a member of the terrorist group "Islamic State" who is a citizen of Tajikistan. The 32-year-old Ilkhomi Sayrakhmonzoda was detained at Fiumicino airport upon arrival from Eindhoven, Netherlands, as reported by the ANSA news agency on April 8, citing the main office of the Roman police.
The authorities stated that the detainee was internationally wanted by Tajikistan for his involvement in combat actions in Syria back in 2014. It was noted that "he is an active member of a terrorist organization and has been evading law enforcement by pretending to be a native of Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, or Ukraine using various aliases and birth dates."
