Over 920 New Russian Citizens Enlisted in Military in Sverdlovsk Region

Military investigators, in collaboration with representatives of military commissariats and police departments, conducted raids in various cities of the Sverdlovsk region in the first quarter of this year to identify individuals who obtained Russian citizenship but did not register for military service, as reported by Interfax citing the press service of the military investigative department of the Investigative Committee of the Central Military District.

During these raids, more than 1340 individuals in the Sverdlovsk region were identified and promptly summoned to the military commissariat for registration. The report indicates that over 920 individuals who recently acquired Russian citizenship were successfully enlisted, with more than 130 already sent to serve in the Russian Armed Forces, either through conscription or contract service.

The operations were carried out in cities such as Yekaterinburg, Nizhny Tagil, Pervouralsk, Bogdanovich, and Sukhoy Log, focusing on areas with a significant presence of migrant workers, including food markets, wholesale vegetable bases, dormitories, and other locations.
