Tajikistan Introduces Visa Regime for Turkish Citizens

in National Security / Tajikistan - by

Tajikistan has announced the introduction of a visa regime for Turkish citizens. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan stated that starting from April 20, 2024, Turkish passport holders will need a visa to enter Tajikistan.

In response to Turkey's decision to require visas for Tajik citizens holding ordinary passports, Tajikistan has reciprocated by imposing a visa requirement for Turkish citizens. Previously, Tajik citizens could enter Turkey without a visa and stay for up to 90 days.

The visa regime was implemented by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and came into effect upon its publication in the official government gazette, Resmi Gazete. Tajik citizens are now required to obtain a visa from the Turkish diplomatic mission before traveling.
