Tajik border guards shot dead seven Afghans who were attempting to cross the border illegally in the border village of Navobod in the province of Takhur, as reported by the portal "Khasht-e Subh."
The incident occurred on the night of Tuesday, April 9, according to the publication. The group was allegedly involved in drug smuggling. The deceased are said to be residents of the Takhur and Badakhshan provinces, but their identities have not yet been established.
Both the Taliban representatives in Takhur and the Tajik authorities have not officially commented on the incident. The Tajikistan Ministry of Internal Affairs directed inquiries to the State Committee for National Security.
