In the city of Guliston in the Sughd region of Tajikistan, a meeting of working groups from Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan was held. After discussing the implementation of Protocol No. 42 dated September 25, 2022, a joint statement was issued.
The meeting on April 15 was attended by key figures including Major General Rajabali Rakhmonali, Commander of the Border Troops of the State Committee for National Security of the Republic of Tajikistan, Major General Ularbek Sharsheev, Director of the Border Service of the State Committee for National Security of the Kyrgyz Republic, Chairman of the Sughd region Rajabboy Ahmadzoda, Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of Kyrgyzstan in the Batken region Abdikarim Alimbayev, along with heads of law enforcement agencies, according to reports by NIAT Khovar.
The discussions centered around the stabilization of the border areas of both countries as outlined in Protocol No. 42. Both parties acknowledged the positive progress in cooperation and coordination in ensuring border security, emphasizing the recent advancements in bilateral dialogue to enhance border safety.
Additionally, they exchanged thoughts on the implementation of protocols resulting from previous working meetings of border agency leaders and reiterated their dedication to advancing the fulfillment of the agreements made.
