The Federal Prosecutor's Office of Germany has charged citizens from Central Asian countries who were detained in Germany in the summer of 2023 in a terrorism case.
According to the agency's website, among the detained are five citizens of Tajikistan - Muhammadsjudzho A., Nuriddin K., Shamshod N., Said S., and Raboni Z., as well as citizens of Turkmenistan Ata A. and Kyrgyzstan Abrorjon K.
All of them are suspected of establishing a terrorist organization and participating in it. Additionally, except for Muhammadsjudzho A., the rest are accused of supporting the "Islamic State" (ISIS).
"They collected money for ISIS from April 2022 to May 2023 and transferred it to ISIS emissaries abroad, totaling several thousand euros. Therefore, Shamshod N., Nuriddin K., Abrorjon K., Ata A., and Said S. are also accused of violating the law on foreign trade," the statement said.
According to the Prosecutor's Office, all the accused have known each other for a long time and share radical Islamic views.
"After the start of the war, they all almost simultaneously arrived in Germany from Ukraine in the spring of 2022. At the end of June, they united. The group's goal was to form a terrorist organization to carry out high-profile attacks in Germany or other Western European countries in the spirit of ISIS," the prosecutor's office reports.
It is noted that "despite regular meetings, inspections of attack targets and possible crime scenes, attempts to purchase weapons, at the time of the intervention of law enforcement agencies, they did not have a specific attack plan."
