In the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan today, on April 26, a meeting was held with the Ambassador of Russia to Tajikistan Semen Grigoryev.
The meeting was dedicated to the issues of further strengthening and expanding the cooperation between the two countries in various fields, upcoming political events in bilateral and multilateral formats, as noted in the statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan.
Although the Ministry of Foreign Affairs did not disclose who specifically spoke with the Russian ambassador, from the photo published on the website of the foreign policy department of Tajikistan, it is evident that Sodik Imomi, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan, was present at the meeting from the Tajik side.
During the meeting, the challenges that citizens of the Republic of Tajikistan have faced in recent weeks when crossing the state border of the Russian Federation were also discussed.
Recently, Russia, as one of the main countries hosting Tajik migrants, has tightened control over them. Media outlets of both countries have reported on the pressure exerted by law enforcement agencies on Tajik citizens in Russia.
Furthermore, as reported earlier, hundreds of Tajik citizens seeking to enter Russia have encountered problems at the border of Kazakhstan and the Orenburg region of the Russian Federation: restrictions have been imposed on the entry of citizens of Tajikistan at the Russian border.
Some Tajik migrants speculate that this is related to the terrorist act at "Crocus City Hall," after which 11 citizens of Tajikistan were arrested.
