in National Security / Tajikistan - by

Customs officers in Tajikistan have prevented the illegal import of poultry into the country. An automobile was stopped on the Dushanbe-Chanak highway, which initially was reported to be transporting 1460 kg of grain products. However, upon inspection, it was found that there was no grain in the vehicle, as reported by the Customs Service of Tajikistan.

Upon further examination, customs officers discovered 269 boxes of Russian chicken meat (3443 kg) and Belarusian chicken mince (690 kg) hidden under the bran in the vehicle.

According to sources, a preliminary investigation revealed that the goods belonged to a citizen named Muindjon Ikromov, a native and resident of the B. Gafurov district of the Sughd region, who was attempting to illegally import the goods into the country.

"It was found during the inspection that the goods belong to Muindjon Ikromov, who lacks the necessary documents for import, indicating the illegal nature of this action," noted the customs authorities.

Currently, the regional Customs Administration in the Sughd region is conducting a preliminary investigation into this case through the department combating customs violations.
