Prosecutors in Almaty have successfully returned 960 hectares of land to the National Bank. This information was announced by the supervisory authority's press service on March 19, 2024.
According to an official document, the prosecutor's office of the city, based on the analysis of court decisions, established the withdrawal of assets by the debtor (defendant Sh.), who was the sole shareholder of the liquidated banks "Capital Bank Kazakhstan" and "AsiaCreditBank". The defendant's debt amounted to over 15 billion tenge.
In the interests of the National Bank, the prosecutor's office filed a lawsuit to invalidate the land purchase agreements of the defendant "Sh".
The press service of the Almaty prosecutor's office stated that the Ilisky District Court of the Almaty region fully satisfied the city prosecutor's claims. The court decision was upheld by the judicial panel.
It is important to note that Orifdzhan Shadiev is the sole shareholder of the liquidated banks "Capital Bank Kazakhstan" and "AsiaCreditBank".
This news of the return of land and plots to the state is not the first of its kind. Just recently, on March 18, it was reported that a part of the Emergency Medical Care complex, previously withdrawn by the former mayor of the city, Viktor Khrapunov, has been returned to state ownership in Almaty.
