Police in Astana detain employee of online store for drug trafficking

Police in Astana have arrested a driver of a Haval vehicle who was found with 30 packets of powdered substance during a personal search. Upon searching the car, officers found an additional 76 packets. The 33-year-old man admitted to his involvement in the online store, handling storage, packaging, and distribution of drugs, as reported by the Astana Police Department's press service on March 26.

A stash of narcotics, scales, ziplock bags, and duct tape were discovered at the suspect's residence. According to the investigation, the seized narcotics included 43 grams of cocaine, 600 grams of mephedrone, and 100 grams of alpha-PVP. A criminal case has been initiated for the illegal manufacturing, processing, acquisition, storage, and transportation of drugs on a large scale.

The detained individual has been placed in a detention center. This arrest follows a previous report on March 1 about the discovery of drug-filled bags worth 540 million tenge in an underground laboratory in Astana.
