The Prosecutor's Office of Kostanay Region, in collaboration with a revision commission, conducted an inspection regarding the targeted and effective use of budget funds allocated for the capital renovation of the regional children's hospital building.
On July 21, 2020, a contract for the capital renovation of the building in the amount of 1.2 billion tenge was signed between the customer, the State Institution "Kostanay Regional Children's Hospital," and the contractor, LLP "Vershina."
Subsequently, 921 million tenge was transferred to the contractor; however, the works were not completed, and the contract was terminated, according to the prosecutor's website.
"The inspection revealed that part of the funds transferred to LLP 'Vershina' were unfounded, without supporting documents confirming the completion of renovation works."
The Prosecutor's Office of Kostanay Region has initiated a pre-trial investigation under Article 361 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan on the abuse of official powers.
