Askar Muratuly, the former Chairman of the Board of Directors of JSC "NC KazAvtoZhol," has been detained by the Department of the Financial Monitoring Agency in Astana for a period of two months. This detention comes after suspicions of embezzlement of budget funds through illegal state procurement from a single source coordinated by the Main Transport Prosecutor's Office. The court has sanctioned a measure of restraint in the form of detention for two months.

Askar Muratuly served as the head of the national company "KazAvtoZhol" from April 2021 to February 2022. Born in 1976 in the former Semipalatinsk region, Muratuly is a graduate of the East Kazakhstan Technical University (engineer-economist) and the Kazakh Automobile and Highway University named after L. Goncharov (engineer).

His career began in 1998 as an inspector at the Department of Trade and Services of the East Kazakhstan region. Throughout the years, he held positions such as director of the Kostanay, Karaganda, and Pavlodar regional branches of the RSE "KazAvtoDor."
