The press service of the Main Transport Prosecutor's Office announced that the Almaty Transport Prosecutor's Office revealed a deliberate violation of the rights of a Kyrgyz entrepreneur by the management of a railway depot under KTZ. The containers carrying the entrepreneur's dried fruits were wrongly delayed under the pretext of technical issues.
After an investigation, it was determined that there were no valid reasons for withholding the cargo, as the wagons were in good condition and had undergone all necessary repairs. Following the transport prosecutor's supervision, the wrongfully detained containers were released and any fees for the delay were waived.
In addition, the deputy director of the Almaty operational wagon depot was removed from their position, and the head of the depot was held accountable. This incident occurred subsequent to the head of KTZ sharing with President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev in February 2024 about the historic achievements of Kazakhstan's railway workers.
