The Anti-Corruption Service, in collaboration with the National Security Committee, has apprehended the head of the capital construction department of the Main Directorate of Military Infrastructure of the Armed Forces on suspicion of committing a particularly grave corruption offense.
Official spokesperson of the Anti-Corruption Service, Daniyar Bigaidarov, disclosed this information. He stated that the individual is suspected of extorting a bribe from a representative of a subcontracting organization on a particularly large scale for general patronage and lobbying the interests of the bribe-giver during the signing of acceptance certificates for modular buildings for the needs of the Armed Forces. The measure of restraint in the form of detention has been chosen with the court's sanction, and the investigation is ongoing.
