Kairat Satybaldy's Case to Return Additional 50 Billion Tenge to State

In the ongoing investigation of Kairat Satybaldy, it is planned to return an additional 50 billion tenge to the state. This information was provided by the press service of the Anti-Corruption Agency.

According to a statement distributed on April 11, 2024, the court, at the prosecutor's request, has decided to grant an extension for reaching a procedural agreement in connection with the need to return illegally acquired assets.

"In particular, the issue of returning additional property assets of the defendant to the state in the amount of over 50 billion tenge is being considered."

It was previously reported that during the investigation, Kairat Satybaldy fully admitted his guilt and assisted in the disclosure of assets acquired through criminal means.

It is worth noting that the investigation into Satybaldy's tax evasion and other mandatory payments to the budget is ongoing.

On May 31, 2023, it was reported that Kazakhstan had recovered property and money from Kairat Satybaldy amounting to 464 billion tenge, in October - assets worth 300 million dollars were returned, and in December - funds totaling 120 million dollars were refunded, exceeding 55.4 billion tenge.

Kairat Satybaldy's arrest was announced by the Anti-Corruption Agency on March 13, 2022. On September 26, 2022, he was sentenced to six years in prison.
