in Corruption / Kazakhstan - by

The Akmolinsk region prosecutor's office has uncovered instances of unjustified bonus payments to employees of a state institution in Stepnogorsk. A total of 13.4 million tenge was improperly awarded to employees over a two-year period, with six employees receiving 6.6 million tenge in bonuses in just three months.

The prosecutor's office has launched oversight proceedings against the institution to recover the misappropriated funds into the state budget. This investigation follows a similar case in Turan district, Shymkent, where prosecutors discovered embezzlement of 6,843,837 tenge in public funds.

Efforts are being made to hold accountable those responsible for the financial irregularities and to ensure transparency and accountability in public institutions.
