Financial Monitoring Agency Initiates Pre-Trial Investigation on Illegal Vehicle Registration

The Financial Monitoring Agency (FMA) informed about a pre-trial investigation regarding the unlawful registration of commercial vehicles by entering false information into the system. It was revealed that from March to September 2022, a special task force employee in Konaev falsely registered 413 commercial vehicles in the system, causing a loss of 3.156 billion tenge to the state budget. The individual is now in custody as a precautionary measure.

The FMA emphasized that certain information, in accordance with Article 201 of the Criminal Procedure Code, is not subject to disclosure. Previously, the Anti-Corruption Service reported a significant increase in budget revenues from 10.6 billion to 91.3 billion tenge after anti-corruption monitoring of special task forces.
