The director of the financial department and the chief specialist of the JSC "NC Prodcorporation" have been convicted in Astana.
On May 16, it was announced that the case was considered in the Interdistrict Court for Criminal Cases in Astana. The director of the financial department of "Prodcorporation," Zhumaдilov N.G., and the chief specialist, Abenov G.Zh., were accused of receiving a bribe from an entrepreneur for the services they provided in collecting documents, as well as for assisting in the signing of a contract for the provision of a commodity loan in the form of grain.
The court's decision imposed a punishment on the convicted individuals in the form of a fine totaling 48 million tenge, with a lifelong ban on holding positions in the public service and quasi-state sector entities. The city prosecutor's office has filed an appeal to change the punishment to imprisonment.
It was also noted that in case of non-payment of the fine within the specified period, the punishment will be replaced with imprisonment.
The verdict has not yet entered into legal force.
On May 15, it was reported that a government official in Aktau received a bribe of 5 million tenge from an entrepreneur and was sentenced to 3.5 years of imprisonment.
