The Anti-Corruption Service has revealed the launch of pilot projects involving the "coloring of money" in the process of budget funds management using digital tenge. The mechanism of "money coloring" in the utilization of budget funds was incorporated into the Anti-Corruption Policy Concept approved by the President of Kazakhstan.

This mechanism will be executed based on the "digital tenge" platform, being introduced by the National Bank in collaboration with the Treasury of the Ministry of Finance. The pilot implementation of "money coloring" has been designated for sectors highly susceptible to corruption, such as road construction, the use of allocated funds for agricultural cooperatives, and subsidizing the purchase of agricultural machinery and equipment.

The pilot testing will commence with specific sections of roads of national importance, in one of the regional agricultural cooperatives, and through investment subsidies provided by "KazAgroFinance" JSC. Participants of the meeting discussed project details, technical aspects of the platform's operation, tracking possibilities of "colored money," and identified specific executors and timelines for each stage.

Following the event, a Roadmap was approved. The Anti-Corruption Service reassured that they will regularly update on the progress of the project implementation.
