in Healthcare / Kazakhstan - by

In the Zhiloy district of Kazakhstan, no infectious diseases such as gastrointestinal infections, viral hepatitis, typhoid, or paratyphoid have been reported since the onset of flooding. The emergency response headquarters in the Atyrau region has carried out disinfection of water supply lines at the flooded facilities of "Zhiloy SU" – Kulsary and Akkiztogai objects.

Disinfection has been conducted in five multi-storey residential buildings, 25 entrances, and five yards. Further disinfection activities were performed on April 19 in administrative buildings, cultural and sports facilities, financial organizations, commercial sites, and more. Additional disinfection measures were carried out on April 21 in 127 houses.

In flooded areas, 436 heads of cattle and poultry, as well as 20 domestic animals (dogs), were removed and disposed of in a designated burial site. Acts were compiled by the owners of the animals. The epizootic situation remains stable in other districts of Kulsary and the village of Karagai.

Water supply to Kulsary was halted, and a road was constructed 1.5 km into the flooded Bakashy area, stopping water flow to Qursai. Fifteen pieces of equipment were utilized in these operations, as stated in the message.

Currently, continuous cleaning and pumping of floodwaters are ongoing in the city, along with ongoing disinfection efforts.
