The sanitary-epidemiological situation in the city of Kulsary in the Atyrau region is stabilizing. The National Public Health Center announced on April 23 that monitoring of the water quality supplied to the population in the flood-affected area continues.

Throughout the emergency situation, up to 500 water and food samples have been taken for sanitary-chemical and microbiological testing. A plan of activities has been developed to prevent infectious and particularly dangerous infectious diseases among the population during the flood and post-flood periods, according to the statement.

It is noted that the population is being engaged in sanitary-educational activities to prevent infectious and particularly dangerous infectious diseases and promote personal hygiene.

Currently, the risk of outbreaks of waterborne infectious diseases is minimal. The National Center for Public Health of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan recommends following the official recommendations of the Ministry of Health during the flood period, as stated in the press release.
