The Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan has announced a phased increase in tariffs for medical services. The government will allocate more funds, primarily focusing on child healthcare and maternity care.
The department explained that a recalculation of unprofitable tariffs for medical services will be carried out. This is necessary to reduce the financial burden on medical organizations and ensure the availability of high-quality healthcare for all citizens.
"Starting from June 1, 2024, in accordance with the decisions made, tariffs will be increased for organizations providing emergency medical care to pregnant women, women in labor, and pediatric patients in inpatient settings," stated the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The tariff increase, as noted by the ministry, will help reduce citizens' out-of-pocket expenses for receiving medical care, compensate medical organizations for accumulated inflationary costs over the past years, and ensure stability in the healthcare sector.
There are plans for a phased increase in tariffs across various other specialties such as abdominal surgery, infectious diseases, neurology, gastroenterology, cardiology, traumatology and orthopedics, nephrology, endocrinology, and oncology-hematology.
This signifies that the government will gradually reimburse medical organizations for expenses related to providing medical services.
Earlier on April 26, the Ministry of Health announced the conditions under which Kazakhstani citizens will be exempt from undergoing fingerprinting for certain diseases.
