The "Zhylkuar" border crossing point in the Kostanay region has been temporarily closed due to floods. Drivers and citizens planning to cross the border in this area have been advised to adjust their routes considering the current situation.
The Border Service of the National Security Committee (KNB) informs that due to the flooding situation in the Kostanay region, the passage of individuals, vehicles, goods, and cargo through the state border of Kazakhstan at the 'Zhylkuar' border crossing point has been temporarily suspended from March 29. On March 29, a state of emergency was declared in three regions of Kazakhstan due to floods: in Kokshetau, the Aksuat district of the Abay region, and in one of the districts of the Aktobe region, where five villages - Karatal, Karasu, Amangel'dy, Karasu, and Koptogai - are at risk of flooding. Earlier, Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov stated that after addressing the consequences of the massive floods that affected almost the entire country, an investigation into certain officials will be conducted.
