Construction of the city of Asman on Issyk-Kul will begin in approximately 10 days. President Sadyr Japarov announced this during a meeting with the residents of the city of Balykchy.
"After the laying of the capsule last year, foreign partners suggested building a green city. This required changes to the original project, hence the delay in the start of construction," explained the president.
Japarov emphasized that the international community is demanding a transition to green economy and energy. "We accepted the proposal in order not to harm Issyk-Kul," he added.
The president also noted that the North-South highway will soon be opened, reducing travel time from the south to Balykchy to four hours. Additionally, a railway is being constructed from Balykchy to Makmal. In the future, the railway will connect the north and south of the country. The railway will also be extended to Tamchi Airport and further to Karakol.
