Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, the President of Kazakhstan, is set to visit one of the regions affected by floods on April 4. The President's spokesperson, Berik Uali, announced the upcoming visit on April 2 via Facebook, stating that further details will be provided later.
On April 2, the Director-General of the Kazhydromet State Enterprise, Danara Alibayeva, mentioned that there is currently a significant rise in water levels in several regions, including North Kazakhstan, Akmola, Karaganda, East Kazakhstan, Aktobe, and Kostanay. Additionally, a water level increase is expected in the West Kazakhstan region due to transboundary rivers.
According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Kazakhstan, five regions are still experiencing flooding, with 20 local emergencies declared by the authorities.
