A new chairman of the board has been appointed at Astana Airport. Yusuf Aldzhavder has been appointed to the position. The Civil Aviation Committee (CAC) reported on April 2, 2024, that Yusuf Rashed Mohammed Aldzhavder has been appointed as the chairman of the board of JSC "Nursultan Nazarbayev International Airport," with the approval of the Kazakhstan government's office.
It was noted that Aldzhavder has over 25 years of experience in the aviation industry, having worked in various positions including leadership roles at Emirates, British Airways, and international airports in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. The CAC also reminded that in November 2023, Astana Airport was placed under the trust management of Terminals Holding (UAE).
Terminals Holding is an aviation company that serves clients in the markets of Asia and Africa, and is also associated with the port and industrial company Abu Dhabi Ports. Starting from May 1, 2024, the investor plans to begin a major renovation of the runway through private investments, as it has not undergone modernization for over 20 years.
