Mass evacuation of over 15,000 citizens from Kazakhstan's disaster-stricken region

According to the latest data from the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Kazakhstan, around 15,000 citizens, including approximately 5,500 children, have been evacuated from Kulsary Zhiloy district in Atyrau region to Mangistau region.

It has been noted that 1,641 citizens, including 741 children, have been accommodated in 21 temporary shelters, while over 12,000 citizens have found refuge with relatives. The Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Department of Emergency Situations have prepared 201 temporary shelters in Mangistau region with a capacity of over 83,000 citizens.

The evacuation of citizens is ongoing, as highlighted by the Ministry of Emergency Situations. Previously, it was reported that Kassym-Jomart Tokayev had a phone conversation with the akim of Atyrau region, Serik Shapkenov. During the conversation, the president assured that no family or resident in the region would be left unattended by the state and instructed to convey warm words of greetings and support to them.
