Kazakhstan Allocates Emergency Resources to Combat Natural Disasters

On April 7th, the Ministry of Emergency Situations (MЧС) in Kazakhstan announced that special equipment and other necessary items have been allocated from the state material reserve to address natural disasters.

According to the department, 51 units of specialized and automotive equipment, bedding for 15,400 people, and tents for 4,000 people have been dispatched from the reserve. These material resources were released from the branches of the State Institution "Reserve" of the Committee on State Material Reserves and handed over to the local authorities and the Department of Emergency Situations in several regions.

On April 6th, in his address to the people of Kazakhstan, President Tokayev instructed to declassify the state reserve to aid those affected by floods. The President also mentioned that the floods could be the most extensive in the last 80 years and outlined the measures being taken to minimize the damage.
