The Ministry of Emergency Situations provided information on the flood situation in the country. According to the department, more than three thousand private houses, about two thousand cottages, and dozens of buildings have been flooded in various regions.
Efforts to mitigate the consequences of the floods are ongoing in multiple regions, including the pumping of water, reinforcement of canal banks, and evacuation of people to safe places. Over 7.4 million cubic meters of water have been pumped out across the country, with thousands of tons of inert materials used for reinforcement.
A significant number of people, including children, have been rescued and evacuated to temporary shelters. Emergency hotlines have been set up, and operational headquarters are active in 20 regions to coordinate the response.
The situation remains critical in some areas, with roads and bridges washed out, leaving several communities isolated. Evacuations and monitoring are ongoing in high-risk areas, such as the Uzynkөl reservoir and the Karasus district.
Despite the challenges, the coordinated efforts of over 13,620 personnel, supported by various equipment and aircraft, have been instrumental in the rescue and relief operations. The declaration of a state of emergency in the Atyrau region underscores the severity of the situation.
As Kazakhstan continues to grapple with the aftermath of the floods, the resilience and unity displayed in the face of adversity are commendable. The government's swift response and the dedication of all involved in the relief efforts are crucial in ensuring the safety and well-being of the affected population.
