Minister of Education Updates Teacher Certification Rules

in News / Kazakhstan - by

The Minister of Education has approved new rules for the certification of educators. The certification process involves a qualification assessment through portfolio review. Teachers undergo electronic knowledge assessment tasks in various subject areas. The results are categorized based on different thresholds, with certification categories ranging from "pedagogue" to "pedagogue-master."

The assessment includes tasks such as "Pedagogics Fundamentals" and "Psychology Fundamentals." Additionally, educators can opt for trial testing for a fee. It is important to note that deliberate tampering with testing equipment and engaging in prohibited actions during the assessment are strictly forbidden.

The certification process also extends to foreign language educators based on their proficiency levels and achievements. The rules outline special considerations for educators with disabilities and those nearing retirement. The guidelines emphasize academic integrity and the importance of continuous professional development.

The certification rules apply to educators across various educational institutions and aim to ensure high standards of teaching and learning. The regulations also address the early assignment of qualification categories and the process for educators transitioning to new educational organizations.

The new certification guidelines will come into effect on April 9, 2024, marking a significant step towards enhancing the quality of education in Kazakhstan.
